Woodgas and Turpentine, LEF’s Farm Grown Fuels Program

At Living Energy Farm, we are trying to develop the means to support a small farm running modest machines entirely with fuel grown on the farm. The two fuels we are working with are woodgas and turpentine. We are not pursuing ethanol and biodiesel because these use high-grade feedstocks, and thus put poor people’s food into rich people’s gas tanks. We are also NOT trying to fuel over-the-road vehicles. We are trying to fuel vehicles on the farm only. These photos show some of our efforts thus far.
